Chamber Show 2008
Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, will organise here the Chamber Show 2008 from September 25 to 28. The chamber president, D. Balasundaram, told presspersons on Monday that the four-day exhibition would have programmes for youth, women and entrepreneurs, besides contests for children and programmes for women.M. Chellayan (Raja), chairman of the event, said about 100 stalls would be put up at the exhibition.R.R. Balasundaram, secretary of the chamber, said some of the products to be displayed would be electric scooter, products made from recycled waste, electronic goods, textiles, jewellery and home appliances.
P. Gnanasambandam, Lena Tamizhvanan and Marabin Mayindan Muthaiah would participate in the programme for youth on Friday. On September 27 (Saturday), a programme on women issues would be organised and the participants would be Jayanthasri Balakrishnan (Professor in PSG College of Arts and Science), Salma (Chairperson of Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Board), Parveen Sultana (lecturer, JPAS College for Women) and Kavitha Muralitharan (The Week).
On September 28 (Sunday), a meeting would be held for entrepreneurs and the participants would be T. Kannan (Thyaragarajar Mills), R. Veeramani (Gem Industries), R. Chokkalingam (Srinivas Fine Arts) and K. Subburaj (Siddhar Vessels). The last date for registration for the contests to be held for children is September 23.
