Short Term Courses
J.C.Kumarappa Institute of Rural Technology and Development, a training centre of Khadi Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, at T.Kallupatti, will offer the following short-term training programmes. The courses offered include a five-month programme in tailoring and embroidery, four-month training in servicing of electronics and electrical equipment, rural mechanic (electrical wiring, motor winding, and diesel engine mechanism), three-month training in cutting and tailoring, two-month training in fitting, plumbing and pump mechanism. Two wheeler mechanism, one-month training in servicing of refrigerator and AC mechanism, electrical wiring, detergent cake making, and spices and masala making are also offered. Two-week training in screen printing, one-week training in cleaning powder-making, detergent powder, fruit jam, squash and pickle-making, and four-day training in bio manure and vermin compost are included.
Six-month training programmes in composite rural engineering (electrical wiring and steel fabrication), three-month training in footwear and leather goods, electrical motor winding, steel fabrication, fancy leather and rexin goods, two–month training in laundry and toilet soap-making, exercise book manufacturing, fancy leather goods, fruits and vegetable processing, and a one-month training in motor winding are offered. Men and women who have passed class VIII, X and above in the age group of 18 and 45, entrepreneurs and candidates sponsored by the Government and private sector, and members of self-help groups are eligible to apply. Admitted candidates should pay a fee of Rs.100 a month towards course fee, Rs.50 towards registration and Rs.800 towards boarding expenses. For details, contact: 04549-272365.
