Suguna Opened India's 1st EC Broiler Shed
Coimbatore based Rs 2030 crore Suguna Poultry Farm has opened the country’s first ever environment controlled (EC) commercial broiler sheds at Erumalampatti village in Thirumangalam near Madurai.The broiler chicken will grow inside the state-of-art EC sheds as done in developed countries. A release from company said that each shed has a capacity to hold 32,000 chickens, with total farm capacity of approximately 2 lakh chickens per batch. Annual capacity of the sheds is approximately 12 lakh birdsThe EC systems works by fans creating low pressure in the shed and air being circulated to all areas within the shed through a system of multiple small vents located in the shed walls. The whole system is automated through the advanced climate control system and even the feeding systems and water systems are also automated.
