Education Programme For Prison
Sevalaya is organising the second phase of the education programme imparting values from the works of Bharathiar, Mahatma Gandhiji and Vivekananda at the Coimbatore Central Prison for the benefit of the prison inmates. Based on the project conducted for school children, Sevalaya was accorded permission by the Director General of Police, Prison, R. Nataraj, for conducting the 30-week course in the prisons across the State.The programme is aimed at inculcating value education for the prison inmates, a press release said. Most of the prisoners were victims of circumstances and reforming them was paramount for ensuring a stable and happy life on their discharge. Hence, the idea of educating values from the works and words of Mahatma Gandhi, Bharathiar and Swami Vivekananda.
