Gurukul system and the joint family system helped a lot in the inculcation of moral values.
Delivering the graduation day address of the combined graduation of the Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Vidyalaya College of Education and Maruthi College of Physical Education of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University at Perianaickenpalayam, he said that the country needed dedicated and committed teachers who could inspire and mould students to meet the demands of time. “Mere academic knowledge is not sufficient. Character building should be a vital component of education. Without this, education will become meaningless. As graduates, take up your responsibility in your career and gain experience. You should try to acquire sound knowledge in your chosen field,” Mr. Ananth said.

For maintaining this we need more scientists,” he said. He urged the graduates to take interest in scientific research and new discoveries to take the country to new heights.

Swami Atmaramananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, underlined the importance of co-operation and team work. “More than expertise, the spirit of co-operation is the need of the hour.” He urged the graduates not to lose their ethical principles to succeed in the face of competition.
