In order to clear the extra rush on the Chennai – Coimbatore – Chennai sector, special train would be operated during the months of August and September 2008. The train would be operated from the Chennai end on August 29, September 5, 12, 19 and 26 on the return direction on August 30, September 6,13,20 and 27. The special train would leave Chennai Central at 22.20 hours and would have stoppages at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore North and reach Coimbatore at 08.15 hours the next day. In the return direction, the train would leave Coimbatore at 21.45 hours and would have stoppages at Tirupur, Erode, Salem Junction, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Perambur and reach Chennai Central at 08.15 hours the next day.
