Lawyers Resolve To Withdraw From Cases
The lawyers of sessions and sub-ordinate judiciary courts in Coimbatore have decided to withdraw themselves from the cases.
A decision to the effect was taken following a circular from the Madras High Court asking the courts to conduct cases by its merit especially when the lawyers were boycotting courts. The said circular asking the courts to go ahead with the disposal of cases by its merit in the absence of the lawyers would go against public interest, the lawyers said. P. Nandakumar, president of the Coimbatore Bar Association, said that they have also resolved that the advocates associations would not attend the functions being attended by the judges of District Court and High Court. They also resolved that those in the legal services authority should resign from their posts.
