Power Shutdown in Coimbatore Region !
Coimbatore : In view of the emergency maintenance works to be undertaken at Kundah Hydro Station, power supply will remain disrupted on a rotation basis for three days from January 26 (Friday) morning till 10 p.m. on January 28 (Sunday).
A release from S. Shanmuganandan, Chief Engineer (Distribution) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board said that the maintenance works at Kundah Hydro Station during the three days will result in 300 MW of power from the Kundah Power House II and II would not be available to the TNEB grid. Hence, power supply to the areas (most of the places in Coimbatore City and Rural District) fed by the following sub-stations would remain disrupted on a rotation basis.
The sub-stations are Madukkarai, Madampatty, Devarayapuram, Sultanpet, Karadibavi, Peedampalli, Kurichi, Kinathukkadavu, Somanur, Arasur, Tirupur, Sadaipettai, Veerapandi, Sulur, Annur, Avanashi, Thekkalur, Kaduvettipalayam, Somanur, Peelamedu, Thudialur, Seeranaickenpalayam, Kalapatty, Saravanampatty, Kallimadai, Singanallur, Ukkadam, Periyanaickenpalayam, Mettuppalayam, Irumborai, Marudur and Kovilpalayam.
Load shedding:During the above said period, load shedding would be carried out in rotation basis staggering the power supply as follows; power will not be available for two to four hours during the day, one to two hours during the evening hours i.e., 6 p.m. to 10.00 p.m., two hours during late night.
