State-of-the-art Printing Facility In Coimbatore
Hitech Universal Printers and Publishers has joined hands with Signatures Designs and Communications to establish a full-fledged printing facility here at Rs. 10 crore. The equipment installed at the facility includes a Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 colour printing machine with pre-press interface that can print 13,000 copies an hour. The following services would be available at the newly-created facility: design, pre-press, press, post-press, packaging solutions, publishing and BPO and KPO solutions.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hitech, P.C. Thomas, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the facility would focus on quality printing, mainly for exports. Some of the potential sectors were text book publishing houses, e-journals, prospectus, and textile printing. The export market in Tirupur, Karur and Erode offered huge potential for printing tags, etc., he said.
Brijesh.KP and Saravanakumar, who head Signatures, added that this was a unique facility that offered all services from designing to post press under one roof. Signatures, which focused on designing, was outsourcing its printing needs. This would now be done at the new facility. A normal press would not have a design studio, they explained. There were plans to have marketing set-ups in the metros. The press would look at an initial annual turnover of Rs. 8 crore, they said.
