Business Line Club Launched
Students should remember that knowledge will get them the first job and effective use of the knowledge will only help in career progress and that entirely depends on the individual, said Srihari Balakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer of KG Group of companies. Earlier students used to struggle for getting information, but at present everything was available at the click of a mouse.
Today knowledge was available in plenty. But much depended on how effectively it was communicated, he told the students at the Info Institute of Engineering at Kovilpalayam, near here, while launching the Business Line Club. He advised the students to focus on core engineering or software engineering jobs. “Say no to BPO job,” he told the 600-odd listeners, comprising engineering and MCA students. According to him, about 60 per cent of the engineering graduates had opted for mainstream engineering jobs last year and the number expected to go up this year. D. Rajkumar, Regional General Manager, The Hindu, inaugurated the club.
