Three persons, including a six-year-old boy, sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a passenger train at an unmanned level crossing between Chettipalayam and Eachanari on Thursday morning. It is learnt that R. Viswanathan and his friend Balasubramanian along with his son Devendran were returning after attending a marriage. When the car approached the unmanned level crossing on the Eachanari–Chettipalayam section, the car was brushed aside by the Dindigul–Podanur–Dindigul Passenger train. They sustained injuries and were admitted to Podanur Railway Hospital.
