CNC E-Club Inaugurated
Participants at the inauguration of the CNC E-Club at the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises - Development Institute in Coimbatore on Wednesday. About 50 entrepreneurs who are into CNC machining here gathered at the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME DI) premises on Wednesday afternoon to form an entrepreneur club (E-Club), the third such club in the city.
The development institute is helping small-scale entrepreneurs form these clubs to meet the demands of the industry by integrating the core competencies of educational institutions and Government, according to the MSME DI Director, S. Sivagnanam. The first such club was formed for a group of machinery and component manufacturing units here on June. Another was formed on Wednesday for wet grinder and accessories manufacturers and one for CNC machining entrepreneurs.
Explaining the scheme, Mr. Sivagnanam said the Central Government proposed to form 240 such clubs annually across the country for the next five years. Each club would get a financial assistance of about Rs. 20,000 annually for its development activities and would have 50 members each. Vellore Institute of Technology would be the institutional partner for the clubs to be formed in the southern States. The institute had facilities such as digital library and technology business incubator.
The members were expected to meet regularly and discuss issues of concern and common demands. These could be related to policies, technical subjects or management problems. The entrepreneurs should start using the modern communication tools, identify and prioritise their needs and seek solutions. Their demands should be presented to the Vellore institute for assistance. N.S. Kumar, president of the Coimbatore E-club, urged the entrepreneurs to make use of the benefits available under the programme. They could seek assistance to participate in fairs or visit exhibitions. “It enables the Governmental benefits reach the industry directly.”
