Alumnae meet :
The Alumnae Association of the Faculty of Engineering of the Avinashilingam University for Women will organise an alumnae meeting on September 26. According to a university release, the meeting will be held on the Ponnuthu campus of the university at 2 p.m.
Man robbed of Rs. 2 lakh :
Race Course Police are probing into a case of a textile firm employee Karthikeyan (29) of Palladam being robbed of Rs 4 lakhs cash by two motorcycle borne accused near Anna Statue junction on Dr. Balasundaram Road on Friday. The victim was on his way from the bank.
Traffic snarl :
The traffic on Avarampalayam Road, which connects the city with Ganapathy area, remained paralysed for hours following a technical snag in the railway gate. A police van, while crossing the railway gate, brushed against it on Friday evening resulting in the snag. The problem was resolved only on Saturday morning.

Robbery at knife point :
Two motor cycle borne accused robbed the employee of a petrol bunk at K. Chettipalayam on Tirupur – Dharapuram Road at knife point at 3 a.m. on Saturday and decamped with Rs 50,000 cash.
