Residents Staged Road Blockade
Residents of Kavundampalayam MGR Nagar numbering nearly 50 including women staged a road blockade at KNG Pudur on Thadagam Road in Coimbatore city. The agitators who came onto the road and blocked it, said that they were demanding house site pattas. They said they were earlier living in Sivananda Colony.
However, they had been shifted from that place during an encroachment eviction operation. Following assurances that were given by officials that adequate steps would be taken to provide them with house site pattas at the earliest, the road blockade agitation was withdrawn by the residents, who then dispersed peacefully.
