PSG Medical Collage Graduation Ceremony

The medical profession is now expanding its domain to research, especially in genomics, Jai Rup Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, said here recently. Delivering the convocation address at the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PSGIMS&R), he said there was a world of opportunities for the medical graduates in the present day.


They could perform well and accomplish in life. He stressed the importance of genetic studies in characterising diseases exclusive to India. He extolled gene therapy as an exemplary testimony to human innovation. He distributed degree certificates to candidates and gold medals for rank holders. Vimal Kumar Govindan, Medical Director, PSGIMS & R Hospitals, delivered the Oath of Hippocrates to the new graduates. G. Rangaswamy, Managing Trustee, PSG Institutions, J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, Co-ordinator, PSG Super-specialty Hospitals, and S. Ramalingam, Principal, PSGIMS&R, spoke at the function.
