Reliance Completed Mega Total Network Expansion

Reliance Communications has announced completion of the mega total network expansion roll-out in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris districts. Talking to reporters, Ajay Awasthi, Circle Head, Reliance – Tamil Nadu, said that today Reliance’s Total Network connects 97 census towns, 360 villages and 47.16 lakh population in Coimbatore cluster, thus, ensuring 81 per cent coverage of villages and 94 per cent of the population in Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode.
Of the 442 villages, more than 360 have been covered ensuring network for 47.16 lakh population as against the total population of 50.33 lakh. While the other players came into the market 12 years ago, Reliance that came into the market six years ago had captured a market share of 15 per cent in Tamil Nadu, he said. Reliance data card was doing well because of the internet access that it provided on a wireless platform, he said and added that Reliance was coming out shortly with two more products namely EC 124 and EVDO and the future would be wi-max, E.R. Sainath, General Manager (Sales), said.

Under the Diwali Dhamaka on a range of communication products, Reliance has introduced LG colour handsets with lifetime validity at Rs. 1,200 and it came with Rs. 1,200 talk time free. Business Jadu 135 with unlimited free calling to all Reliance mobiles across Tamil Nadu. The Hello Veetu Phone at Rs. 999 came with lifetime validity and aimed at tapping the huge rural market potential.
