Workshop On ‘The Pancreas’

Surgeons, especially those involved with the pancreas, should remain in touch with their professions, eminent surgeon N.Rangabashyam said here on Saturday. Inaugurating a workshop on “The Pancreas” organised by the G.Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial (GKNM) Hospital Department of Surgery, he said considering the difficulties of operating upon the pancreas, the specialists should never lose touch with their job. Coimbatore had carved a niche for itself in having the best medical treatment facilities. The profession of a doctor was for a lifetime. However, doctors should become specialists, Dr.Rangabashyam said. Vegetarianism was the best way to remain healthy, he added. The two-day live workshop and lectures would throw light on the various possibilities of treatment of pancreas problems, said president of the GKNM Hospital D.Jayavarthanavelu. Dean of GKNM Ramkumar Raghupathy participated.
