Alcohol De-addiction Camp Was Conducted
An alcohol de-addiction camp was conducted at the Manjula Community Centre of Aim for Seva, Anaikkatti. Organised in association with TTK Hospital, Chennai, the camp is the second one conducted by Aim for Seva. Patients along with their spouses were taken through a unique treatment model which included ‘re-education,’ counselling, group therapy, group activity, relapse prevention activity, therapeutic games, family classes, prayers, bhajans, and outdoor games. According to a press release issued here, the first batch of patients treated last year had given up alcohol and were leading healthy lives. These people were also awarded a ‘sobriety medal.’ They shared their experiences of an alcohol-free life with the recovering addicts. The team from TTK Hospital was led by Shanthi Ranganathan, Honorary Secretary.
