Mitsubishi JV with Coimbatore Craftsman Automation

Japan's largest general Trading Company Mitsubishi Corporation, and it's subsidiaries have announced a joint venture with Coimbatore based Craftsman Automation Pvt. Ltd, to set up MC Craftsman Machinery Pvt. Ltd. The new company will offer sales and service of Industrial Machinery like Mitsubishi Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) and Mitsubishi CO2 Laser cutting Machine (Laser), manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and other Machineries in the field of Die and Mould industry, Sheet Metal Industry and parts Manufacturing Industry.


With Head Office and main Technical Centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, other branch offices and centers of MC Craftsman Machinery will be located in Chennai, Pune and New Delhi to support customers in major industrial region.Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Yoji Taguchi, Managing Director, MC Craftsman Machinery Pvt. Ltd, said "India is growing in it's Manufacturing Development and the market size is expected to multiply many fold in the coming years. "As per the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association, the production of Machine Tools in India has seen a growth of 15% in 2007 over the previous year.

It is evident that demand for Machine Tools in India is growing rapidly since 2002-2003. It is showing signs of sustenance that will last for next several years, thanks to the rapid surge in the manufacturing activity, especially in the Automobile and Auto component sectors. Indian Machine Tool industry has further invested in technology and human capital to greatly enhance capacity to meet the growing needs.
