Inox eyes Coimbatore !
Inox Leisure, the national multiplex chain launches in Hyderabad and opened its screens at the premium GVK One Mall in Banjara Hills. The new Inox Hyderabad has six screens and 1257 seats including 75 luxurious recliner seats.
On the launch, Alok Tandon, CEO, Inox Leisure commented, “With this opening we have ensured the top of the line Inox experience to the Hyderabad movie lovers through convenient location, easy accessibility and modern comforts.”Inox has also introduced its own food and beverage counter Refuel in the new multiplex premise.In Andhra Pradesh, Inox already has a three screen multiplex in Vijayawada and proposes to set up two more multiplexes comprising of 10 screens in Vishakhapatnam by the end of the year and a four screen multiplex in Warangal by mid 2010.
Nationally, Inox has 27 multiplexes and 97 screens in 20 cities across India. Coming to the expansion plans, Inox aims to have total 39 multiplexes and 147 screens during the financial year 2009-10 with the opening of another 12 multiplexes and 50 screens in Siliguri, Kolkata and Howrah in West Bengal, Indore, Bangalore, Kanpur, Vishakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai and Bhuvaneshwar.
In the next phase, Inox plans to open another 22 multiplexes and 100 screens to take the count to total 61 multiplexes and 247 screens by the end of 2010-11 in Kolkata and Haldia in West Bengal, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Kotra Sultanbad, Coimbatore, Pune, Ranchi, Jalgaon, Warangal, Bangalore, Hubli, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Chennai, Goa, Bilaspur and Jabalpur and by the end of financial year 2011-12, opening of another nine multiplexes and 44 screens is planned to add to the total count to 70 multiplexes and 291 screens in places like Kharagpur, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Howrah and Asansol in West Bengal, Guwahati, Pune and Hyderabad. According to Inox, the average investment would be of 20 to 25 million planned as per screen set up excluding the cost of real estate.
